Reviews and Ratings
I stayed at the Hotel Mimosa and had a mixed experience. The rooms were spacious and well-equipped, especially at night with air-conditioning and a kitchenette in each. However, the service was very unprofessional, and although I had booked a balcony room with a sea view, the hotel mimosa had views of Funchal and the mountains. The location was decent, being near the center of Funchal and a leisurely stroll to the waterfront, but there was a fairly steep hill from the road to the reception area. The dining options were simple and not very tasty, with limited choices that remained the same every day. Vegan pizza was the highlight here.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Lido with easy access to the sea. The rooms are spacious with a small kitchen for added convenience, but some may find the design reminiscent of prison cells. The dining options are varied but not exceptional. The service is generally good, except for one intrusive incident at the reception. Overall, the price matches the provided amenities making it decent value for money.
I had a great stay at the hotel overall. The rooms were refurbished, clean, and comfortable with good balcony views. The service was helpful, although there was a slight incident at reception. The location was very convenient but quite hilly. The dining options were varied and satisfying. The facilities were good, with some additional features available.
